Noticing Spring (SOLS) 03/08/2011
First crocus sighting!
The tiresome cavalcade that set seige all these months appears over. The formidable snow formations gradually retreat and withdraws its mass coverings smirched and stained with browns, greys and dirty whites.
A welcome cavalry of crocuses spearheads the charge. Young blades of green breakout across the dull lawn. The sun’s warmth and the steady exchange of bird calls signal the end. The forces of spring are moving in.
A teacher and reader who wants to practice writing--despite being a procrastinator and one of the slowest writers in the world.
